Dr Gary M. Vasey

Author & Poet

Czech Republic (via England and the USA)

Dr Vasey is a third generation psychic born in Yorkshire, England. His roots in that county ensure that his story is told with prosaic humour and objectivity.

His autobiographical book, "Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul" traces his journey from the first uncomfortable stirrings of vision in childhood, through to his gradual acceptance of self. It follows the quest for understanding that led him to study with a modern Mystery School and guided him towards his encounter with an inner plane contact.

The doubts, the boredom, the gritted teeth of determination, all these the student will recognise with a wry smile. The book gives an honest evaluation of one man's quest for inner light, without any attempt to paint a glossy image. Highly recommended as essential reading for anyone starting out on this Path, it gives a clear picture of the trials and the beauty of the Mysteries.

The narrative will resonate with any student of the Mysteries as they see a reflection of the dark nights and glorious dawns of their own quest. With grace, simplicity and knowledge, Dr Vasey holds a mirror to his soul and allows the reader to share what he finds there.
"Weird Tales, Other World Poetry" is an intimate glimpse into the soul of the man.

“These are my innermost secrets. These are the reflections in my soul of the experiences of life. I bare my soul to you the reader and trust that you will find something of interest here and recognize in my weird tales something to convinces you that all human spirits share in the depths and the heights of life. My tales are ‘weird’ because they do not necessarily follow any particular rules and because they dig deep inside my consciousness grasping for age old archetypal symbols that have driven mankind for time immemorial. They are ‘otherworld’ because they speak about my inner self – my true self. And as a result, they are truth – my truth.”

A Place for Me

Looking at old photographs
Laughing in the rain
Staring into dismal places
Always the same

Show me a place
Where I can go
And live each moment
Never feeling low

Show me an island
Trouble free
Show me a World
With a place for me

And time goes by
With never a moment
To stop and think
Never a moment
For me

Dr Vasey's poetry is always penned with an openness of the soul. His writing holds up a magical mirror into which we all may look to see our individuality reflected. This is no writer of pretty verses, but an author who writes with passion and vision. Any work by Dr Vasey draws the reader in at a deep and visceral level.

In Weird Tales the author explores the layers of his own life and Being, and in doing so, exposes that of the reader.

Masks
And at the end of the day
I can forget the pretence
Take off my mask
Throw it away

And yet tomorrow
It’ll be the same
No one really knows me
Form your opinions

None of them will surprise
See only what I let you see
In this world of mine
I oft en stop to wonder

Do you all wear a mask like mine?
But what is the point in asking
I can see it anyway
It cracks when you are lying
